white ant

(also called ‘termite’)

a kind of insect – wingless (some with wings during mating season) – soft body with a very thin exoskeleton (= tough outer cover) – looks like (resembles) an ant but more closely related to cockroaches  –

to white ant (verb)  =  to ruin someone; to spoil someone’s chances

2.

a white-anter =  a saboteur, a person who spoils the others’ plans secretly while being friendly with them

3.

to have white ants in one’s belly-can  =  to become exceedingly stupid or even totally mad
