tinny ~ tiny

[‘tinny’ rhymes with “cine” (like in cinema), and ‘tiny’ rhymes with “shinny”]

Tinny” (adjective) means ‘(of sound, music, voice) high, thin/weak, and unpleasant that come out of metals, as if two pieces of metal were hitting each other or rubbing against each other’,

e.g.

Her voice sounded tinny through the old loud speakers.

Young generation likes tinny music, whereas the elderly like classical music.

Tiny” (adjective) means ‘(of size, number) very, very small {the opposite word in meaning is “huge”}’,

e.g.

The travellers were forced to find shelter at a tiny village on the coast.

She gave birth to a tiny little baby girl.
