['sloe' rhymes with 'slow']
“Slow”, as an adjective, means ‘(of something) that is happening, being done or moving at a lower speed than is expected; (of something) that is taking very long (time) to complete; (of a person) not good or quick at understanding common things or happenings, or new things’; as a verb, it is ‘to become less in speed; to become or make things move or happen less actively than is expected or normal’; and as an adverb, usually in its comparative and superlative forms – slower and the slowest, is ‘(of an action) being done in a slow speed or in a less active way (slowly)’,
e.g.
“I have some slow readers in my class,” said the teacher.
A slow train is the one that stops at more stations.
The drivers must slow down when they get closer to the traffic lights.
If the visitors go slower on their tour, they can see more of our historical city.
