Slide”, as a verb ~~~  slide – slid – slid – sliding , is ‘(of a person or thing) to move easily and smoothly over a smooth or wet surface while still touching the surface; (of a person) to make something or someone move easily and smoothly along; (of a person) to move quietly and smoothly in order not to be seen by others, or to make something move quietly and smoothly’; and ‘to make or let the prices, amounts, rates, etc. become lower in position or amount; to make or let a situation get worse, usually gradually’; and as a noun, it is ‘the act of moving easily and smoothly on some surface; a situation which gradually gets worse’,

Slide” (noun) is ‘a small flat piece of glass on which something, such as a drop of blood, urine, faecal matter, or even water, is put or smeared to be looked in a device or equipment called a microscope to see what kind of germs, bacteria or virus the drop has, usually in a laboratory; a small piece of film in a frame that is put in a machine or device called a projector used to blow up (show things in larger size than they actually are) on a screen or smooth wall’,
