“Season” (noun) is ‘one of the four main periods of time into which a year is divided depending on the weather: spring, summer, autumn and winter; a period of time during which some particular activity takes place; the period of time in year when most people take or are given their holidays because there are some important festivals that period, or the business or the office work is dull or little that time of the year; the particular time of the year when animals, including birds and fish (a different period for different animals, of course) are ready to have sex and breed; the time of the year when a series of some major sports event or some other cultural activity starts or is conducted because the weather is suitable at that period, or there is some other reason’,

Old people find it difficult to cope with the changes in the weather as the seasons change.
The season for mangoes usually starts in late February or early March.
She receives several ‘season’s greetings’ at Christmas.

e.g.
