“Peace” (noun) is ‘(a situation, or the mental condition of a person) without anxiety or disturbance; free from quarrel, war, riots, civil disorder, etc.; quietness, calmness’,
e.g.
After being at war for six years, the two neighbouring countries are at peace now.
I’d like to got to the countryside to have some peace of mind from this hustle-bustle city life.

“Piece” (noun) is ‘a small part (small bit) of something large (usually solid) either broken or cut or marked; one separate part of a set of things’,
e.g.
She took a piece of paper and wrote some message on it.
The mirror dropped from her hands and broke into pieces.
Compare:
‘Leave me alone; let me have some peace of mind.’ [i.e. don’t disturb/bother me; I want to be left alone]
&
‘Next time I see the rude fellow, I’ll give him a piece of my mind. [i.e. I want to scold that fellow for his rude behaviour; I want to talk to him seriously to teach him some manners]
