[both words have the same pronunciation with the letter ‘l’ silent]

Palm” (noun) is ‘a large tree with branchless trunk (stem), long leaves (called fronds) growing on the top in a mass, fruit grows in bunches, found in the tropical areas and its leaf or leaves held as a sign of victory’,

date palm tree with bunches of dates (fruit)

e.g.

Date palms grow  mostly around oases in the deserts.

Palm” (noun) is ‘the inner surface of a person’s hand between the wrist and the base of fingers’,

a person’s palms

e.g.

He held the hot pan with bare hands and burnt his palms.
