might ~ might

[the same pronunciation; the letters 'gh' in both these words are silent]

Might” (verb) ~~~  may – might – might, the past and the past participle form of the verb word ‘may’ which is one of the Modal Auxiliary (helping) Verbs, is used to express ‘less possibility, doubtful condition; a polite form of asking, etc.’,

e.g.

He said he might go to the cinema the next day.

Might” (noun) is ‘great strength, power or force’,

e.g.

The might of the enemy force is too much for our weak army to stop them from advancing.

The little girl pushed the heavy table with all her might but it didn’t budge an inch.
