middleman:

(plural: ‘middlemen’)

a middleman between two fighting women, trying to solve their dispute

a person who keeps/stands himself or herself between two people or two groups of people or two companies when those people or companies, called ‘parties’, make a business or other deal, using his/her power or position or knowledge of things to assure each party a fair share of the deal or an equal right to express; a go-between; an intermediary,

e.g.

The two factions agreed to let a candid local politician to act as a middleman when they meet to discuss peace discussions between them.

a person (businessperson) who buys goods (things made and sold) from manufacturers or producers and sell them to retailers (small shops) or directly to the consumers, making some profit in between; a broker; a distributor;

a middleman in a business deal

e.g.

Our company has removed all the middlemen, and is now distributing the products directly to the retailers to save the middlemen’s commission money and time.
