a woman classical singer with a medium voice, usually sings in operas,
Vivica Genaux, a popular mezzo-soprano (the singer in the second video)
e.g.
Mezzo-sopranos usually sing for the roles of nurses, witches, wise women, etc. in a classical operas (classical stage plays).
