metalworker:

(plural: ‘metalworkers‘)

a metalworker making a vessel

a person/worker who shapes metal into objects that are used in all kinds of things, from very heavy metal structures, such as bridges, buildings, etc. to machine parts that are used in making machines to small items, such as jewellery, etc.;

an expert who makes and knows how to make metal objects, usually in place called foundry, using modern tools on a machine called ‘lathe’,

In some parts of the world, highly skilled metalworkers come from a specific community, who strictly guard their trade secrets from outsiders, passing on the techniques only to their male children.

The modern metalworkers work using advanced technology and computers unlike their ancestors who had to work very long hours at furnaces or forges bearing the heat and manually working with heavy hammers.
