lode ~ load
[both these words have the same pronunciation that rhymes with ‘road’]
“Lode” (noun) is ‘the amount of metal in its original form found in the nature (ore)’,
e.g.
The soil here is soft, so it is easy to find and extract the lodes.

e.g.
We need a couple of strong men to carry this load of wine bottles.
In some parts of the world donkeys are still used to carry loads.
The truck was loaded with apples.
