knew ~ new:

[‘knew’ rhymes with ‘new’]

“Knew” is the past tense form of the verb word ‘know’ which means ‘to have the knowledge of some information or fact in the mind’,  know – knew — known

e.g.

I knew that she would come to me.

We all knew that the war was inevitable.
