knew ~ new:

[‘knew’ rhymes with ‘new’]

{The letter ‘k’ in “knew” is silent.}

Knew” is the past tense form of the verb word ‘know’ which means ‘to have the knowledge of some information or fact in the mind’know – knewknown

e.g.

I knew that she would come to me.

We all knew that the war was inevitable.

New” is ‘(of something) that is made or produced recently, not being in use before; different from the things known before’,

a new iphone

e.g.

She bought a new skirt.

He has come up with some new ideas.

Who was that new girl with you?
