knead ~ need:

[‘knead’ rhymes with ‘need’]

{the letter ‘k’ in ‘knead’ is silent.}

Knead” means ‘to mix something, such as flour and water, to make a firm paste (dough) by pressing thoroughly with hands; to press a part of someone’s body with hands to relieve pain’,

kneading the dough

e.g.     The baker kneads the dough and shapes it into loaves.

Need” (noun & verb) means ‘the condition in which something necessary is lacking or wanting; to want something or someone for some useful purpose’,

e.g.

She needs some money to buy a pair of clothes.

(empty pockets — need some money)
