keeper:

keeper (L) of her baby sister

a person who guards, protects, or looks after something or someone, e.g. “She is her brother’s keeper”, i.e. she takes care of her brother because their mother is not there (probably dead) or at work, etc.

(in combination with other words) a person who is in charge of or who has special duties in relation to something else, e.g. gatekeeper; (in sports) goalkeeper, wicketkeeper; zookeeper; gamekeeper, etc.
