Frisian cow (also ‘Holstein’ or ‘Friesian cattle’)

A Holstein-Frisian cow yields the highest quantity of milk. They are also bred for their meat, called ‘beef’, but they are bred mainly for their milk!

Frisian horse (also ‘Friesian horse’ or ‘Friesian’)
a breed of horse – large with usually black (but also light brown) short smooth coat (hair) with long, smooth and slightly curly mane (= hair on the neck) and tufts of hair below the knees (called ‘feathers’); grows to 5½ – 6 feet tall at the shoulder, weighs about 600 Kg.; feeds on grass and other horse fare; lives for about 25 years; originally from a province called Friesland in the north of the Netherlands, Europe
The Friesian horse was war horse in olden days, and then was used by knights in their heavy armour. In the present day, it has been used as a draught animal, and in horse shows and competitions!
