a kind of animal – mammal – related to the wolves and dogs – small to medium-size with long narrow muzzle (mouth and nose part), relatively large ears, long, bushy tail with a white tip; grows to 15 to 40 inches (including the tail – 7-10 inches) 1½ to 2 feet tall at the shoulder, weighs 6-10 Kg.; feeds on small rodents, rabbits, lizards, small snakes, eggs of birds and birds, and fruit; lives for 3-7 years in the wild and 10-13 years in captivity; about 12 species (kinds) of ‘true foxes’, and total 27 species (?), found all over the world (except Iceland (?))

Foxes have been hunted for their fur and just for sport – fox hunting!
The ‘fennec fox’ with its very large ears is the smallest of all fox species.

Foxes are known to be very cunning and sly for the way they hunt and/or steal live stock – small domestic animals and chicken (domestic fowl)!

Foxes have been associated with human for centuries.  They are found in the religious scriptures, and more often, in the fables (short, moral stories), and in children’s stories, radio & TV shows, and in the motion pictures (films)!
