There are different types of elocutionists: lecturers whose job is to speak clearly and interestingly; politicians whose political career depends on how they make their speech emotional so that masses feel the pulse; spiritual leaders who make the general public their followers by their interesting and inspiring interpretations of the scriptures; and so on.

A talker is a person who talks about anything and this word has a negative connotation, a speaker is any person who talks about something and this word has a positive connotation, a reciter is a person who says something, such as a poem, story, some excerpts form a popular book or holy scripture, from his/her memory and this word has a positive connotation, a debater is a person who talks about pros and cons (good or bad) of something usually with other debaters, an elocutionist is a person who talks about something interestingly and intelligently usually showing command of language and in-depth knowledge of the topic or subject, and an arguer is a person who talks about (argues) something with strong emotion usually in opposition to someone else’s opinion or idea and this word has a strong negative connotation.
