My uncle has been an editor in the local newspaper and knows lot about how newspaper printing was done in the past and how it is done with the help of modern technology in the present.
To be an editor a person must have thorough knowledge in languages, public interests, contemporary trends in fashion and entertainment, and every other aspect of life in general.
There are different types of editors: newspaper editor = an employee who decides what types of news to be printed, where and when; chief editor = an employee who supervises and advises several junior or assistant editors in a newspaper publishing company or TV news channel; sports editor = a person who decides what types of sports news to be printed or shown; film editor = an expert who removes or adds the numerous shots in a movie/film to give a continuous sequence to the audience; news editor = an expert who decides what type of news to be broad cast and when; book editor = an expert who knows what parts in a book to be removed or changed or added and in what order the paragraphs to be printed in a book.
