druggist  –  druggy (or druggie):

Druggist” is the American English variation of British English “chemist” or “pharmacist” which means ‘a person who prepares and also sells medicine(s) along with cosmetics, toiletries, etc.’,

e.g.

Most of the young with a Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy become druggists.

Druggy/druggie” is ‘a person who abuses drugs and is addicted to narcotic drugs, i.e. a person who takes sleep-causing medicine (drugs) for pleasure rather than for curing diseases’,

e.g.

His younger sister ran away with a druggy/druggie and he had tough time finding her.
