defensible – defensive:

“Defensible” means ‘something that can be kept safe from harm, or that can be protected against attack’; ‘a means of defense’
- 100 feet of defensible space surrounding a house near a forest area
e.g.
Our enemies were stationed at a defensible position; there was no way we could attack them.

“Defensive” means ‘something that is for attacking, or something that defends, protects something else’, (the opposite word in meaning to ‘defensive’ is “offensive”)

e.g.
- a defensive shot in cricket
His opponent played a defensive play.
We need to come up with some defensive measure against nuclear weapons.
