decree – degree:

“Decree” is ‘an order with the force of law given by an official of a court of law or a ruler or government, or a religious establishment, such as church, temple or mosque’, and ‘to give such an order’,
e.g.
The court issued the tenant a decree of eviction.
[i.e. the court order the tenant to vacate (a building, land, etc.)]
It has been decreed that there should be no sex discrimination. (i.e. women should not be treated differently at jobs or in educational institutions just because their women — everybody should be treated equally basing on their conduct and talent)

“Degree” means:
(a) unit of measurement for angles, temperature, etc.
(b) step by step
(c) a certificate or title given by a college or university for a student who successfully completed a course of study
e.g.
Draw an angle of sixty degrees (60º).
The temperature rose to forty degrees (40º C).
She has a Master’s degree in Physics. (M.Sc.,)
