someone’s female (girl) child;

a girl or woman who is not a blood relation, but is closely connected to an organisation, activity, society, etc.,

a father (L) with his daughter (R)

e.g.

I have only one son and no daughters.

In Hinduism, most orthodox families feel that having a daughter is like having the ‘goddess of wealth’ in your home!

In some Asian cultures, poor and middle-class people try to kill their daughters soon after birth because when the time comes for them to get their daughters married, they have to spend a lot of money, and if they don’t have any money and can’t get their daughters married, they will be socially boycotted!

Elizabeth is the daughter of our community ‘Women’s Organisation’.  ( i.e. she spends a lot of time and shows a lot of effort for the betterment/good of the organisation, expecting very little in return)
