confectioner:

(plural: ‘confectioners‘; pronunciation: both the letters ‘c’ are said with a ‘k’ sound as in “king”)

sweet/candy items, sweetmeats, that we eat are called ‘confections/confectionery’, and the place where they are made and/or sold is called ‘confectionery/confectioner’s shop’

a person who makes and/or sells sweets (candy), ice-creams, cakes, etc,

a confectioner making confessions at his confectionery

e.g.

Pedro is an experienced confectioner, and adults and children alike buy confections from his confectionery which is just round the corner.

Like most of the artists in other fields, fresh confectioners also learn from their seniors or masters, and these days there are special schools which give courses in confectionery.

Chocolate confectioners are those confectioners that specialise in making confections using chocolate, and the most favoured item of chocolate being the ‘chocolate egg’ which is commonly seen during Easter time.
