compulsive  –  impulsive

Compulsive” is ‘(of something) resulting or arising from a force or influence that makes a person do something, such as drinking alcohol, gambling, taking illegal drugs (drug abuse), debauching (visiting prostitutes regularly), etc.’,

e.g.

Compulsive drinking is bad for one’s health.  [i.e. the strong desire to drink alcoholic drink any time, day or night, or at any place, at office, in a park, etc., is bad for one’s health]

Impulsive” means ‘having a tendency to act suddenly without thinking about the results, like shouting at people, getting into arguments or fights, buying expensive things that are not useful or affordable, etc.’,

e.g.

Her impulsive actions made her an unwelcome guest at any celebration.  [i.e. she behaves in whatever way she likes, like saying something unsuitable or indecent, suddenly without caring for other people’s feelings]
