commonly called ‘cocker spaniel’; the smallest of the spaniels, but medium-sized with long  hanging ears and smooth wavy (medium-sized) hair; on average, grows to 15-17 inches high at the shoulder and weighs 15 Kg., bitches (females) are little smaller; lives for about 12 years; originally from England and brought to America, but now found all over the world

Special Features:
Cocker Spaniels are good pet dogs, easily managed gun-dogs (used in hunting), and very popular show dogs.  They are said to be sturdy and ‘dogs of balance’.

They are used in hunting (gun-dogs) to flush out birds (= find out where the birds are hidden in the bushes and make them come out so that their owners can shoot them, and to bring back the shot birds)
