As a result of the global recession, many coach building companies have cut down on their staff and many coachbuilders have lost their jobs and are now finding work in garages where vehicles damaged in road accidents are repaired.
Almost all the large motor vehicles and railway carriages come out of the factories with only the frame (chassis), engine and wheels, and the rest of the body with seats, electric wiring and lighting is built by a coach building factory or company using expert coachbuilders.
