chameleon:

(plural: ‘chameleons‘; pronunciation: the letters ‘ch’ are said with a ‘k’ sound as in “king”)

(an imaginary human chameleon)

 

a person who frequently changes his ideas, opinions, behaviour and support to others to suit to his own purpose, benefit and profit;

a person who keeps changing his opinions from time to time,

(an imaginary human chameleon changing colours)

e.g.

Martin is such a chameleon that you never know when he’s going to change his opinion!

Some people think that most politicians are chameleons, using ‘serve to people’ for their own profit.

In religious debates there are three types of people: the first type is creationists, believing that God created everything; the second type is evolutionists, supporting the theory that everything has evolved from a simple organism; and the third type is ‘chameleons’, taking the name of a god when that works wonders, denouncing the same god when that makes any difference to their advantage and going for an entirely different god when that brings in more profit!
