Cast”, as a verb, means:

and as a noun, it is ‘all the people acted in a play or film’,

e.g.

The fishermen cast their nets into the calm water to catch fish.

Caste” (with an ‘e’) is always a noun and it means ‘a social class or division of Hindu society in countries like India; a division of society based on birth, wealth, rank, etc.’,

e.g.

In olden days people from lower castes were not allowed to enter temples.
