A cartographer is not just an artist who draws maps; he/she is a scientist who can understand the different geographical forms of the earth, and give us a lot of information of the features of a place in the form of a picture on a piece of paper.
A cartographer must be a graduate in engineering or physics and must do some special course(s) before becoming a qualified cartographer.
Most of the cartographers are recruited by government agencies; however, there are other sectors, such as oil companies, construction companies and education department.
