(plural: ‘butts‘; pronunciation: ‘butt’ rhymes with the word “but”)

Apart from several other more common meanings/definitions …

a person that other people make fun of,

e.g.

Judy was the butt of their jokes.  ( i.e. they made jokes on her and laughed at her)

Some of the other common meanings are: (a) the end part of a cigarette (b) the thick end part of something such as a rifle (gun) (c) the back part of a person or animal on which they sit (d) a target in archery (e) a blow or push (hit) with the head or horns (f) a kind of joint in carpentry … and so on.
