a person who keeps animals (and plants), such as cattle, goats, pigs, dogs, horses, birds, fish, etc. to produce better and high quality offspring (babies);

(slang usage, not to be usedĀ  in formal situations) a person who has sex with several people of opposite sex,

a horse breeder with a new foal
e.g.

Mike is a well-known breeder of horses in our town.

When you want to buy a puppy, choose a good breeder whose prices are reasonable and whose dealings are honest.

Most breeders of exotic birds are accused of smuggling them into our country.

Note: ‘Breeder’ is also used to refer to an animal that gives birth to many babies; and ‘breeder’ is often used to refer to a person’s or any general activity that produces number of results, usually harmful results, e.g. Rats and rabbits are prolific breeders. Poverty is the breeder of crime.A ‘breeder reactor’; however, is a nuclear reactor that produces more fissionable material than it burns.
