borrower:

(plural: ‘borrowers; the antonym (opposite word in meaning) is ‘lender‘)

‘to borrow’ = to take or receive something for a certain period of time and return it or its equivalent after the specified time

a borrower (R) borrowing something from a lender (L)

a person who takes or receives something, such as money or things, for a certain period of time on condition that the thing should be returned in tact and if it is money returned with or without interest,

 

a borrower (R) borrowing a bicycle from her friend (L)

e.g.

“Neither be a borrower nor a lender be.”  (a quotation from Shakespeare’s Hamlet — a piece of advice not to borrow/receive anything from anybody and not to lend/give anything to anybody)

Betty is such a borrower that you like to give her anything she asks for because she returns whatever she borrows promptly.

Banks go bankrupt if they have more borrowers who don’t pay back and fewer depositors.

A thief is humorously called a ‘borrower’, usually kept within a pair of quotations when the expression is written!
