boost  –  boast

[different vowel sound: the letters 'boo' in 'boost' rhyme with the word "boo"; and the letters 'boa' rhyme with the letters 'boa' in "boat"]

Boost” is ‘to push up (something) from a lower level; to give help to improve or increase’,

e.g.

The company has a new scheme (plan) to boost its production.

Boast” is ‘to talk about oneself too proudly’,

e.g.

He always boasts that his car is the most expensive.

It is her boast that she never catches a cold.
