bonehead:

(plural: ‘boneheads‘; pronunciation: ‘bone…head’)

a stupid or foolish person who is also arrogant, used to insult someone whom one thinks is not very clever;

a dunce; a numbskull,

an alleged sports bonehead — Miguel Cabrera, a popular baseball player

 

e.g.

He said, “I’m vexed with that bonehead; I wonder what I’d do next time I see her!”

The foreman has had a tough time meeting the deadline because most of his workers are boneheads and do not have any understanding of the work they are doing.

My friend may seem a bonehead, but he’s innocently honest most of the time.
