Boa constrictors are the only species (kind) that have the common name and the scientific name the same.

Some boa constrictors are good tree climbers and good swimmers.

They give birth to live young.

Some species (kinds) can hiss so loudly that it can be heard a hundred feet away.

They are killed for their skin, for food and simply out of fear.
