binder:

(plural: ‘binders‘; pronunciation: the letters ‘bi’ rhyme with the word “buy”)

Apart from several other definitions/meanings…

‘to bind’ = to tie together pages and using thick covers to form a book

a person who binds, especially books;

a book-binder,

a book binder at work

e.g.

In the past, a bookbinder worked mostly manually, but the modern day bookbinder depends more on the technology rather than on the skill.

Some extremely skilled binders are in great demand when it comes to preserving old and rare books that are found only with the museums and book collectors.

Job opportunities for hand bookbinders are getting fewer and fewer as most of the work in book binding is done by machines.

(a binder/ring binder for holding sheafs of paper)

‘Binder’ is also used to refer to a folded hard cover that is used to keep loose sheets of paper, a ring-binder; a machine which binds books and other things; and (in agriculture) a machine that reaps (cuts) crops and ties it into sheaves (bunches) also called ‘reaper binder’.
“Binder” and ‘Bookbinder’, always with a capital ‘B’, are often found in the names of people, e.g. Mike Binder, Judith Binder, Mark Bookbinder, Steve Bookbinder, etc.!
