billposter/billsticker:
(plural: ‘billposters‘/’billstickers‘; pronunciation: the letters ‘bill’ rhymes with the word “bill”)
a billsticker sticking a notice
a person who sticks (pastes) wall-posters and printed notices onto walls or notice-boards;
a person whose job is to stick or paste advertising posters on walls and billboards/hoardings in public places so that the advertisement is seen by many people,
A billposter must be a strong young man who can climb up tall structure to post or stick large advertisement posters.
Billposters’ main source of income is from posting theatre or cinema posters which have to be changed quite frequently, wherever a new play or cinema is released.
The present day billposter/billsticker, unlike the one in the past, needs to have some technical knowledge as it is necessary where large digital advertisements are placed on huge structures decorated with flood, florescent and neon lights.
