(plural: ‘bigots‘; pronunciation: the letters ‘big’ rhyme with the word “big” and the letter ‘o’ rhymes with the letter ‘a’ in “about”)

(Bush being called a bigot)

a person who thinks strongly and unreasonably that his/her own ideas, opinions or beliefs are correct and others should also accept them;

a person who thinks strongly and unreasonably of his own group/race, religion, politics, and does not accept others who think differently,

e.g.

A bigot never considers others’ opinions or viewpoints.

He felt very disappointed because his colleagues called him a ‘bigot’ just for saying that they were wrong and he knew the truth.

It is highly impossible to decide who is more harmful — the political bigots, the racial bigots or the religious bigots!
