At any public auction, a bidder must know more about ‘how not to bid’ than ‘how to bid ‘.

When an official tender is called, the bidders are required to deposit some amount of money before they start to bid.

There are different types of bidders: ‘by-bidder’, who secretly acts for the seller or auctioneer to increase the bid; ‘low bidder’, who offers the lowest bid; and ‘winning bidder’; a bidder who offers the highest bid if it is an auction or the lowest bid if it is an official tender and wins it.
