It is sad to see that there are beggars in every major city in the world.
Some lazy people make it their business to beg, and some studies show that a beggar’s income may vary from a couple of dollars to a neat two hundred dollars a day!
Though begging is prohibited in many countries, there are beggars still begging on the streets and at market places in almost all the countries.
‘Beggar’ is also used to refer to a fellow, man or boy in a very informal or friendly way, e.g. ‘You lucky beggar!’
