bedbug
a bedbug on a person’s hand
an insect – without wings; small – 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch in length (4 mm in length and 2.5 mm in width); a general name used by most people for any species (kind) of very small insect (pest) that infests beds, and feeds on human blood; and some of these species feed on poultry, farm animals, and also the birds and warm-blooded animals, including bats, in the wild; found almost all over the world

This tiny insect is very dangerous. Once a place is taken over by a colony of them it is very, very difficult to get rid of them. In the USA, at one time, people thought they had got rid of them totally, but the recent study and survey reveal that they are far more now than they were before!
Though keeping the surroundings clean certainly discourages their growth, a place or person being dirty has nothing to do with the number of bedbugs they have in or on them. This is because the bedbugs live on the human or animal blood, but not on the dirt.
One thing we should be glad about the bedbugs is that they do not transmit any diseases though they do live on human and other animal blood!
