e.g.

In baseball a player at bat is also called a ‘batsman’, though ‘batter’ is much preferred.

Brain Lara, Ian Botham, Ricky Ponting and Sachin Tendulkar are some of the best cricket batsmen.

The batsman at an airport who guides a plane, using red bats, to its place on the ground is more commonly called ‘ground crew’.
