a woman who serves drinks (brandy, whiskey, beer, etc.) in/at a bar or in a pub (public house), usually from behind the bar counter;

a woman bartender;

(mostly in American usage) a waitress who serves drinks in a bar or pub,

an Irish barmaid showing off her talents

e.g.

By evening most young men of the town gather at this bar just to look at and have a chat with the new barmaids whom the pub owner keeps changing quite often.

Several of the present top models and pop singers first started their lives as barmaids.
