barber:

(plural: ‘barbers‘)
a person, usually a man, who cuts (trims) and shaves men’s hair on the head and face as a profession,

a barber (standing) with his customer (sitting)

e.g.
In the past a barber, also called ‘barber-surgeon’, cut men’s hair and did blood letting as a treatment for any sickness because people believed that by making a small cut on the hands and letting the impure blood drain out of the body freely would cure them of their sickness.

It was a custom in the past for a barber to post a pole painted red with spiral white stripes as a sign outside his shop.

A barber‘s is a shop of a barber where men go to have their hair on the head and face cut or trimmed.

Traditional barbers use cut-throat razors to shave and strops to sharpen their razors.
