Baptist:

(plural: ‘Baptists)

‘baptism’ = an act or a ceremony of making a person ready to receive God by dipping him/her in water, conducted by a pious person, such as a priest, also called ‘baptist’

a person who believes that baptism  in Christian religion makes a person holy;

a person belonging to a denomination called “Baptists” in Christian religion;

(usually without a capital ‘B’)  a person who makes others religiously and spiritually pure (baptises),

e.g.

According to Baptist Union of Great Britain, Baptists do not have one distinctive belief. It is a combination of various beliefs, which make Baptists distinctive.

The Baptist Union of Great Britain are guided by five core values.

According to www.biblebc.com, “There are lots of churches labelled ‘Baptist’. The need is to discover what is the one that is Biblical.”
