(plural: ‘archers‘)

The act of shooting arrows form a bow is called ‘archery’.

an archer of the medieval times

a person who shoots arrows from a bow, especially in war in the olden days or as a sport in the modern times;

a bowman;

(in astrology) a person born while the sun is in Sagittarius; a Sagittarius,

a modern day archer, shooting arrows for fun or as sport

e.g.

It is surprising to learn that an experienced archer can fire an arrow every five seconds!

The ancient Persian army had the best mounted archers who shot arrows on their enemies.

(in sports) Though they were a small number, the American archers are known to be better than the U.K. archers.

Note: ‘Archer’ is more commonly found in the names of people, e.g. Jeffry Archer, Anne Archer, Jimmy Archer, Melisa Archer, etc.
