It has a long snout (mouth part) and strong front claws with which it can rip open the strong anthills; its sticky tongue can be extended to 2 feet (61 cm), with which it can scoop up (eat) about 35,000 ants (or other insects) a day; it has a two-foot-long bushy tail; and it rolls into ball when attacked; mother giant anteaters carry their babies on their backs for many months.
