Special Features:

The American alligator is the state reptile of Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi, USA.
Alligator skin is made into valuable leather, used in making bags, shoes, belts and even jackets.

alligator boots = boots with gaping (open) mouths, i.e. the upper parts (toes) have parted from the sides
