a kind of large sea bird – different species (kind) of albatross have different feather colours, the most common being white feathers rimmed with dark brown or black feathers; with strong sharp beak (bill), and webbed feet like that of a duck, found in the Pacific and the southern oceans

Special features:

Albatrosses can fly long distances without much effort.
They are the greatest of all sea birds, with a wing-span (length of wings) of more than three metres, the greatest wing-span of any bird alive.
Some of the albatrosses reach an age of fifty or more years.

albatross – an oppressive and inescapable fact or influence from a person’s past life; (This name is also used in golf game.)
